Babies 1

In de afgelopen jaren werd ik meerdere malen gevraagd om een ontwerp te maken voor een heel bijzonder moment in iemands leven: als aankondiging van een nieuwe baby!

Voor elk kaartje maak ik graag iets unieks, iets wat er nog niet eerder was en ook iets wat bij de ouders past. Ik heb ondertussen wat ontwerpen bij elkaar verzameld om een beeld te geven van de ontwerpen.

In elk kaartje zitten de wensen of verhalen van de ouders verwerkt tot een echt Image de Julie ontwerp. Soms met een gemengde boodschap, soms met flink veel roze voor de liefhebbers, en soms met een accordeon spelende beer op een geel krukje. Over de laatste in een ander blogje meer.




Maar goed. De collectie kaartjes groeit gestaag. Een aantal ontwerpen zijn alweer gemaakt, maar wachten braaf totdat de baby er zelf ook is. Want hoe graag ik het kaartje met jullie hier zou willen delen: ik wacht totdat de baby zichzelf aandient.

En voor degene die ook graag een geboortekaartje wil: neem alsjeblieft contact met me op. Ik spreek via mail/telefoon graag het proces met je door. Dan weet je wat je kunt verwachten.

Welkom BABY Daan

Voorgaande jaren maakte ik een grote tekening op het raam van Feito com Amor, en naar aanleiding daarvan kwamen Peter en Diane op mijn pad voor een tekening op hun raam..., als aankondiging van hun pasgeboren kindje! Ik had er zelf nog niet eens bij stilgestaan, maar daar leent zo'n tekening zich natuurlijk prima voor.

Mijn telefoon-foto's waren wel voldoende om het project vast te leggen, maar niet echt mooi genoeg om te delen. Gelukkig zijn Peter en Diane een stuk beter met camera en heb ik onderstaande foto's aan hen te danken. 
 

Zoals zoveel dingen, smaakt dit naar meer! Na mijn verhuizing deze zomer, poetste ik mijn raam weer schoon, en tekende geen enkele nog vol. Maar zelfs manlief vindt dat maar saaiig. Binnenkort de ramen van dit huis maar bewerken... Maar ik sta natuurlijk ook open voor nieuwe opdrachten! Voor baby, voor een verjaring, voor een feestje, voor een bijzondere gelegenheid...? Ik maak echt niet zoveel rommel, werk vrij geruisloos, en neem geen rokerspauze! Wat let je?

Sunday Market Westergasfabriek 6 okt

Al mijn mooiste werk laten printen en een flinke stapel nieuwe kringloopschilderijen verfraaid. Nu snel verder met de rest van de voorbereidingen.. genoeg te doen!

Preparations for Utrecht & Antwerp

I've finished most of the work I will bring to the markets.. So now, it's decoration time!! I've glued these plastic trees on a wooden strip, to decorate my stand at Utrechtse Fabriek and Markt van Morgen. What do you think? 

TURNHOUT - thrift shopping finds

(scoop: In september I will be doing a 'metal box-workshop' based on my Ma Belle Boite. It will take place in a monumental building in Breda, during Open Monumenten Dag.. During the workshop you'll transform an old metal box into something worthy of keeping your old photos, loveletters, jewelry or other special finds)

This summer: STOP/START

When we bought a new house this spring, I knew it was going to be a busy summer. Blogpost were amongst the things that dissapeared from my agenda... I don't like change too much, so cleaning up the window in my old workspace, removing the drawings that had been there for quite some time and made my world visible for the outside world was rather difficult. Luckily I'm all about clean, fresh starts. And my new workspace was just like that!

I found a pin on Pinterest I REALLY liked. It looked like a lot of work, it was even more work than it looked like :(  But the best time to paint the floor, is when the space is empty. And it was going to be cramped in no time, with all my boxes of stuff I use for making stuff. But here's a picture of an emty workspace. I'll post new ones when I've tidied up a bit. Looks more like a garage or storageroom now. But a nice one in the garden surrounded with green. Lot's of green.
