Swan Market Antwerp: report

I finally sat down to go through the pictures taken in Antwerp of the first (!) and really succesful Swan Market on Grote Markt, Antwerp. I was so busy all day, chatting about my work, wrapping prints people just bought and had almost no time to enjoy the beautiful weather we had. I only made two pictures I posted on my FB. Luckily Floris and Annemarie (from hetfiliaal.com and casamariabreda.nl ) made a small report and I picked a few to show to you. It was a magical place! Look!

The people from the orange van had soooo much cool vintage and retro stuff. Bought some new, vintage 60ties shorts for Baby A.

Unleash the dragon

Wow. I just had a perfect sunday at Lindenmarket in Nijmegen. The people were friendly, I sold loads of my prints, ate a good tosti made by the tosti-boys, ran into Philomeen and even the parking was really close to the market ;) 

All good things.

Makes me happy and makes me want to go to more (creative) markets. This sunday I saw Wilma from studio Zipp. I LOVE her work, especially the brooches she makes. Have bought them several times. They are so raw, unpolished, colorful and (well I like my brooches big) pretty huge! (have to make a picture when I get home...)

So today I decided to registrate to a few more markets:

(i haven't had response from all these markets yet, but I intend to partcipate in these)

(Photo's taken in my workplace: The plastic dogs collection belonged to my deceased grandmother. They were collectables, found in noodles, flour etc. I'm not much of a dogperson, but just love little plastic collectable thingy's.)

Musical surroundings

A few years ago, I was a bassplayer in a punkband. I was horrible at it, so when I was kicked out of the band, I only shed some tears because of my hurt ego...

 Instruments look like cool accessoires, I pretend that I would know what to do with them.

These photo's are taken at Dijkmans muziek, in Breda. Two years ago I did a mural painting there, and also painted the counters. Last year, my boyfriend A. made this incredibly cool cabinet, from glass, steel and dirty-looking wood. It locks away a special 1955 Gibson JP Standerd Gold Top. (I just like the shinyness of it..)

The whole cabinet. First picture (at the top) has guitars hanging on a metal and dirty-looking wood wall. That's also made by my A. Isn't he just wonderful... :D

Groens

Had al bijna een jaar een kadobon van de Intratuin liggen, zaterdag heb ik mijzelf daarmee verwend. Een mooi boeketje, een miniplantje voor in de glazen geometrische hanger van de Kringloop en een kleurig plantje voor in mijn Ikea hangpot. Oke, en een zak koemestkorrels voor de (nog aan te leggen moes-) tuin, maar dat zie ik niet als verwennerij. Dat boeketje bloemen is trouwens gemengd met wat imitatiebloemen van de Ikea, dat zag ik bij vriendinnetje Karlijn en zag er mega-super-deluxe uit.

De blauwe week is trouwens verdrongen door wat groens, meer mijn kleur.

Blue (dabadi daba doo)

Growing up, I never thought I would be selfemployed.

I never dreamt that I would have enough courage to walk my own path. Most of the time I feel strong and as if I'm on a mission to conquer the world. But sometimes I feel kind of blue and alone...

Talking to other (selfemployed) women helps, we all sort of have the same problems, all have our ups and downs. Or struggle with clients, deadlines, sometimes kids, spouses or changes.

I also learnt that it's good to occasionally take time to reflect. (what the hell am I doing? where is this going?)

Feeling sometimes blue, happened today. :(

Tomorrow I'll lock myself in my workplace, surrounded by my own little universe. I'll probably feel okay after a few hours of thinking, dreaming and planning.

The pictures I took at Cafe Couture last week. Saskia's spring collection of vintage pieces is stunning. It's a place that is timeless, that is styl-y, and she always has a quirky choice of music playing.

I'll probably pay her a visit tomorrow too ;)

Wachten

Vaak gebeurt het dat ik iets maak en het graag DIRECT wil delen met de wereld.

En dat kan dan niet. Want het moet nog geplaatst worden, of wordt pas over een tijdje gebruikt. Of een baby moet eerst nog geboren worden.

Dat was het geval met onderstaand kaartje. Voor Jelle en Roos maakte ik een geboortekaartje met een feestelijke Maleise (of Maleisische?) tapir met witte luier.
