2013, oh, lala!

Time sure does fly.  I can remember 2012 (or 2011, 2010, 2009 etc) like it was yesterday... But new years are also nice things that sort of happen every year again.

New years = new beginning = new projects = new start = all fresh and clean.

One of my new projects is with Marthe Roosenboom, a designer/illustrator that recently moved from Breda to Gotenborg. She makes really funny charts of her month in a new country, check it out here.

ONDERTUSSEN (meanwhile) will launch this Cultuurnacht Breda, 25 of january. We made a short B/W movie about a pearl necklace, a boring bank employee, a singer, and a thief. We'll be making LIVE sound effects when screening!

the secret world of P. (interest)

I've been thinking a while what to do, since there wasn't much action, and since apparantly I'm not made out to be an online shopkeeper. So:  I closed my Etsy-shop :(

And because they say that everytime God closes a door, he opens a window: I started on Pinterest :) I love collecting! This dreamy, cleanly photographed world of nice and inspirational things seems to be my cup of tea. Time will tell...

I made a few boards, started pinning around. Rearanged my boards, renamed them 5 times, added a few of my own images to them and felt sooooo happy. And still do.

Xmas time AGAIN!

I made a new design for a xmas card, but you could also very well use it to wish your family and friends the best for 2013. Simply order them by sending me an email, or visit Feito Com Amor or Casa Maria in Breda. They will be selling it soon.

Both designs are original collages, scanned and then printed on 300 grams paper.

Kadoverpakking

Gister een ontzettend leuke workshop gedaan van Lisa Manuals bij Feito Com Amor: kadoverpakkingen maken. Aangezien ik gek ben op papier, knippen en plakken, heb ik mijzelf getrakteerd op een avond vol knutselplezier. Ik ben zo blij met het moois wat ik heb gemaakt...

Tijdens de workshop leert Lisa je op een eenvoudige manier om mooie zakjes te maken van oude papiertjes uit oude boeken. Van een vierkant papiertje vouw je een mooi doosje, gelukkig met hulp van Lisa (en een spiekbriefje). Verder heb ik me uitgeleefd op labels, versieringen en kartelrandjes. En dan is het opeens al tijd om naar huis te gaan.

CASA MARIA MUSEUM

I've allready spend hours eyeing the pretty-pretty things in the museum. Anything from old Bollywood posters from the fifties, to plastic faucets from India, to Pakistan bike and truck decorations, to orange displays, to plastic figures, to electronical temples for Hindu gods. (Casa Maria is a store in Breda that sells interior and household goods from exotic places such as Mexico and India. To celebrate it's 15th anniversary a museum was made to show off some of the special finds owner Annemarie took home with her whilst purchasing goods for her store. Open from 15 to 30 october, monday 13-18, tuesday- friday 10-18, saturday 10-17, Ginnekenweg 71, Breda)

Marche aux puces

One of my biggest passions is visiting fleamarkets. I adooooooore watching peoples junk. And I often end up buying a lot of it too. I wanted to share some of my best and most recent fleamarket finds.

I keep buying plaster figures. Here's my new and small collection: Knitting girl bought in Kopenhagen (DK) , Lion in Turnhout (BE), Dove in Alblasserdam (NL) and Dog in Wuustwezel (BE). I tend to visit fleamarkets wherever I am.

Plastic Elephant bought in Turnhou (BE), Wooden rabbit figure (can't remember..) They teamed up in my workspace, and are inseperateble since then.

I first thought that the Marie figure was made from wood, but then found out it was a heavy plastic-y material. That made me be a bit less carefull with it... oh-oo. And ACCIDENTLY Baby Jesus' neck started crumbling down (because I sort of placed it in a box and placed more things on top of that..). Then my sweet boyfriend repaired it with his magic sculptering skills. All it needed then was a touch of virgin blue paint! (bought in Hoogstraaten, BE) Vases also bought there, they were just perfect how I found them.
